Dr. Beer emphasizes a comprehensive, personalized approach to healthcare. As a certified functional medicine practitioner and a board-certified internist, he helps patients achieve long-term healing with a range of traditional, alternative, and integrative therapies.
His primary focus is finding the “why” behind symptoms and understanding how genetics, lifestyle, and environment affect the development and treatment of disease.
Dr. Beer has been in private practice since 1981 and is currently on staff at Mount Sinai Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital. He graduated from Columbia College and New York Medical College and received advanced training in functional medicine, nutrition, and integrative medicine.
Dr. Beer was the medical director of the Center for Comprehensive Health Practice in East Harlem. He was also director of New York Medical College’s general medical clinic. He was also director of New York Medical College’s general medical clinic.
He is currently on the faculty of NYU Nursing School and acts as a mentor to Nurse Practitioners in training. Dr. Beer prioritizes unhurried time with each patient, educating individuals about their treatment options and looking at health through a holistic lens. His interests, education, and continued studies allow him to offer patients a wide range of solutions. He is committed to ongoing clinical research and education to maintain his clinical skills in the ever-changing world of healthcare. He believes everyone has a right to enjoy optimal health and that the model of functional medicine as a diagnostic and teaching tool helps provide the best possible care.
